Real Madrid are in chaos. In spite of a win against Sevilla in La Liga during the weekend, they had lost their 2 previous games in all competitions. Their matchday 5 in the Champions League against Shakhtar Donetsk has them in their current position. A win here will ensure Real Madrid make the last 16. A loss and Inter Milan win against Shakhtar Donetsk would see Real Madrid completely dumped out of European tournaments.

Borussia Monchengladbach were 2-0 up against Real Madrid in matchday 2 after 87 minutes. They lost their heads and allowed 2 goals in the final minutes to Real Madrid. They have been brilliant but will be kicking themselves for defensive lapses.  In spite of their loss to Inter Milan on matchday 5, they are in good form. They can move to the last 16 with a draw, they do not have to win but it won't be easy to get a result in Madrid. 

Real Madrid will be without Eden Hazard. Federico Valverde and Dani Carvajal could both miss the game as well due to injury. Sergio Ramos will return for Real Madrid following injury.
