'The Blacklist' Season 3 Episode 1 Recap And Review: It's All About Keen And Reddington Being Fugitives
"The Blacklist" season 3 episode 1 picks up from season 2 - Elizabeth Keen and Red Reddington are on the run as most wanted.
"The Blacklist" season 3 premiered with episode 1 entitled, "The Troll Farmer." It was a "hide and seek" episode, said IGN, which kicked off with what season 2 left - the FBI desperately searching for Megan Boone's Elizabeth Keen and Jame Spader's Red Reddington.
"The Blacklist" season 2 ended unexpectedly with something that changed the direction of the story, and left its two main characters on the run, reported Variety. Keen killed the corrupt Attorney General, which put her to be like a fugitive with Reddington, the guy who provided the blacklist to authorities while taking interest in Keen, while Diego Klattenhoff's Donald Ressler is tracking her down.
The most significant character, Keen is caught between Reddington's wonderful knack of playing with ludicrous plots and the top covert operation of the FBI who is a humorless machine. The last season also revealed that Keen is the daughter of a Russian spy.
"The Blacklist," NBC's biggest scripted drama has bright spots such as the idea of creating bogus viral content in season 3 episode 1. TV.com finds it wonderful to have the concept of having computer nerds in a townhouse, posting bogus tweets, Internet chatters and Reddit threads to distract the authorities from real criminal events.
The enigmatic operative Edi Gathegi's Mr. Solomon showed up, planning to plant toxic gas in Dembe's granddaughter.
As Most Wanted in America, Keen and Reddington crisscrossed the globe to shun authorities. While both tried to escape New York, Harry Lennix's Harold Cooper was in the interrogation room. Instead of going past checkpoints which she could eventually not, Keen made the wise decision to stop running and go to the Russian embassy.
In its "The Blacklist" season 3 episode 1 review, TV.com said Keen tried to "save" herself by admitting she is a Russian spy and requested for diplomatic immunity.
Keen and Reddington being fugitives was a boss decision, said TV.com. Both could have gone to Mexico or Canada, or convinced Ressler their innocence, then return to the routine of catching bad guys. Perhaps, it would eventually happen that way.
